 My AM Radios are very DEAF ???

Not mentioned is the signal generator. If not calibrated properly they can be a menace.

To get mine on frequency I use a counter, it does not matter how rough the gen is, it just need to have a good signal & be stable. Not all sets use 455kHz as an IF frequency HMV being one that is not. Make sure you get that right.

Setting the signal generator, using a frequency counter with the modulation "on" is a sure method of getting it wrong. as is shoving too much signal, down the throat of the radio.

You cannot calibrate with the AVC / AGC in full operation.

Many ABC stations unlike commercials only run about 85% modulation not modulation on the red line.
