Fixed that. This damn thing is headed for scrap. Something has gone wrong with the PSU feeding the screen. Below 10 degrees it's screen starts to flicker & 2nd opinion says its not the drivers. Not good trying to read it while its flickering.

I have actually used the panel mounted resistors to replace field coils & chokes.

Shame to waste all of that heat sink material, which a metal chassis offers.

Getting back to that live chassis battery portable, have you considered using two small transformers like this:

240 to 2 x 15v in series followed by a full wave voltage doubler for the 90v B+

240 to 2 x 6v in series, full wave CT, followed by a pi filter for the 7.5v.

Advantages: No live chassis, no big dropper resistors, no heat.
