Dear Friends,

Who can provide me with a schematic (and other info) of the American Bosch type 38 radio?
Thanks in advance for any information!

Radiomuseum has what you are seeking:

http://www.radiomuseum.org/r/americanbo_38.html.

However, you need to be a member of that site to download schematics. Some of the members of this forum may be able to help in that regard.

Also try http://www.nostalgiaair.org/, it has scans of "Rider"

The .com version of the URL didn't go anywhere.

GTC and Marcc,

Thanks for the advice!
Radiomuseum org. is wel known throughout Europe, but for my own reasons I don't want to join RM.
Nostalgiaair however, has been a very useful site!

Still, any more info is ofcourse welcome...

Kind regards,

Ted.

Once you have a circuit & we can see how it's wired, then we have a better chance of working out how to go about getting it to make radio noises.

One of the things I have found to have a massive attrition rate is the grid resistor of the "leaky grid" detectors.

The resistors that look like fuses with brass ends are the easiest to deal with and easier if you know what the resistor value is.

Often these ends come off allowing a 1mm hole to be drilled into the centre and a small 1/8 watt resistor fitted as a replacement...... and the whole thing looks original.

Marc
