Would anyone have a good copy of the circuit or better still the AWA service information for this radio. I've got the single page circuit off the AORSM CD but I can't make out the wattage of the resistors. They all look like 1/2 watt including the bias resistor which can't be right. Some of them look like 1 watt but I'm not sure.

The single page also doesn't have the alignment table or dial cord diagram but I can figure those out if I have to Sad

Cheers,

Warren

My scanned copy of the schematic is hard to read, too. When I zoom in on the page I can just about make out the resistor wattages and see a combination of 1/2 watt and 1 watt, and I think R21 says 3 watts.

If I were working on a 1005 set, I'd be guided by the physical size of the resistors in it to determine which are 1/2 and which are 1 watt.

R1 and R2 seems to be 1 watt, and R3 seems to be 1/2 watt. Can you get an idea from looking at those 3?

In any case, if there's room you're safe using 1 watt replacements for 1/2 watt and good quality 1 watt resistors can probably withstand higher voltages than today's half watters.

The warning is; Many supermarket resistors of low watts cannot handle the voltage of valve radio's.

You will get a way with 1/2 watt on most control grids however, it is much more cost effective with valve radio's to keep the inventory down by carrying principally 1 Watt types.

The exception is AVC / AGC where there are few volts hardly any current and the lower wattage resistors are closer to the original resistor.
