Hey guys I just obtained a 11-7 Kriesler Breadloaf opened it up and on the back of the chassis it has stamped
6X5GT
6M5
6SQ7GT
6SK7GT
6SA7GT
However in the sockets are the following
6X5GT
6M5
VR55
6SS7GT
6SA7GT

The two in question are 6SQ7GT has been replaced by a VR55 which is the same type of valve but has a grid cap on it and I am sure that they are different eternally. however the socket has been wired to accommodate the gridcap would this affect the radio.

Secondly the 6SK7GT has been replaced by a 6SS7GT which are again the same type of valve but are not listed as compatible.
The radio doesn't have any sound work and everything looks very well kept in the radio wondering if anyone knows about this and could help me out.
Thanks in advance
Stephen Simpson

According to my data, there were numerous versions of the 11-7 between 1947 and 1950 with these valve line-ups:

1947, 11-7, 6X5GT ECH35 6U7G 6B6G 6V6GT

1948,11-7 amended, 6X5GT ECH35 6SK7GT 6SQ7GT EL33A

1949, 11-7 issue 2, 6X5GT ECH35 6SK7GT 6SQ7GT EL33A

1950, 11-7 F to K, 6X5GT 6AN7/ECH35 6SK7GT 6SQ7GT 6M5/EL33A

Interestingly, the 6SA7GT isn't mentioned. I'd have to look at all of the associated schematics to see what's going on in that regard. Somebody here more familiar with that model may be able to advise.
