I was given an old filthy looking mantle radio . It was covered by dust and spiderwebs and actually had a few black residents inside it . When I got it home I used quite a bit of spray to evict the residents . I have just beewaxed the cabinet and replaced the old spkr cloth with some other old cloth I have kept for many years . The elderly gentleman who gave it to me claimed it was his dads radio , and it still works. I still have to replace the paper and electro caps , and of coarse replace the mains lead with 3 wire . then I will test it . The radio turnes out to be a 'phillips radio player' superoctodyne model 6506 serial no 6728 . There is one little problem . I removed the valves for cleaning and lost the valve layout diagram . the rectifier is easy , the other 4 ???? Is there anybody not as dopey as me that would have a clue wher e I could get the info from . Thank you alan

Alan,
By luck, there is a 6506 coming in for repairs in the next week or two. Further research shows that are 2 versions for the 6506. I think the problem you've got is to identify which valve is which because of the loss of markings. When this one comes in I will make notes of the different features each valve has and hope that it might be of help.
Regards
Rudy
