Hey Guys I Have wound up with a 1947 Eclipse Peter Pan Adventurer Portable Radio but am unsure of the pacific model if anyone has the service manual for the radio it would be greatly appreciated if I could have a copy of it to determine the model and I am unsure of how rare these radios are as I have not seen any around if anyone has any inside would be greatly appreciated.

G'day Stephen,
To identify the model, I suggest that you send some photos to Brad who will post them in this thread.
Another help would be a list of the valve types in this unit.
If you have to remove a valve to read its number, try and not touch the paint on the glass envelope as it can be rubbed off with a slight touch.
How did you determine the year that this model was released? Some models had a production run over a number of years.
Cheers, Graham...

Hey the valves in the radio are as follows
1T4
1R5
3V4
1S5
1T4
in regards to the year I quoted I found a similar radio on radio museum called the CKP Eclipse Peter Pan Adventurer which was made in 1947 it has the same valves but I am sure there are other models that have the same valves aswell.

Hi Stephen.
All Electronic Industries radios from that era (including Peter Pan & Astor) should have a 2 or 3 letter model type, proceeding the serial number, stamped somewhere on the chassis. (i.e. KM, DL, CKP, etc.)
Kevin Chant has a copy of the CKP service manual (16 pages)

Cheers.

Acording to Stuart Irwins Australian Radio list, the only portable Peter Pan of 1947 was the CKP. This has the same valve lineup as you have noted.
I have a schematic of this model but Kev's website would be quicker. The full address is; http://www.kevinchant.com/uploads/7/1/0/8/7108231/ckp.pdf.

I do not think these overly rare. I repaired one last year; More than one of the members of the radio club I am in has one.
Not a difficult set to get running, I can't remember an electrolytic in it (have circuit) but all of the paper caps, I replaced, before making a battery pack for it..
