Just thought I would followup my questions 6 months ago about a 1930's restoration with some followup pictures.
Here's the restored product all working and sounding great. Looks quite spiffy in the sitting room and gives a certain air of oldworld charm.
The wood's been sanded back, restained and urathaned. I created one pot control extender with a section of 1/4" drill bit and a section of dynabolt (adjusted to the right length with an angle grinder). Final was some material from Lincraft that complemented the wood.
All in all, not too bad if I say so myself.
Still trying to determine which set it is, may be a Lekmek but since there are no marks at all, it probably be impossible to determine.

It's hard to guess brands sometimes. Lekmek did use those octagonal dial escutcheons on many of their radios and the styling points towards a Lekmek.
My only suggestion would be to add a grommet to the power cord where it enters the chassis.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...

I prefer glands in that situation. They will hold the cable from turning. They can, depending on room, be mounted backwards so the sticking out bit is actually inside the pan. There are a few Vintage sets in Silicon Chip where I have done that. Jaycar add for Power tool soft starter Jan edition also shows two in use.
That also looks like it was made to take shields on the valves that have the tell tale skirt. Beware if that has 6D6's "Goat" type shields (which it is not made for) can cause issues with 6D6 and should not be used as a temporary substitute.
Looks nice
That actually may be an early EFCO dial? I have a suspicion EMMCO used numbers like the on printed on it. They made radio parts and did build for others.

They really used red grillcloth? Somehow, I would have expected a colour ranging from a brown to almost black. Still, it looks good.
Posting from last year (it's still 2012 here in America)
