Hi River.
Good to hear you have had a win!
I hadn't read post 13 when I last replied. If you are happy with the performance of your radio then don't do anything more.
Enjoy the Cricket!
Cheers.

You've earned yourself a dancing banana!

The radio may have come to life when you swapped out a bad tube, or maybe you just cleared a dirty tube socket. So before you toss the old tubes, try subbing them back into the set to see if they are really bad. They're not making these tubes anymore...

Hi,

For sure! I am keeping the old valves and when I get a moment I will open up the unit and sub them back in to see they all work okay. May even buy a second set, seeing valves are not made anymore, to "future proof" further repair work in the years to come.

Now, I'm onto fixing an old Eddystone, but I'll fire up a new post about this, as I have questions and concerns.

River
