On not being able to find a dual 30uF-50μF Electrolytic Capacitor for my 117volt Admiral Y3559 clock-tube radio, I decided to replace it with two capacitors. My pedantic nature got the better of me and I decided to mount the two smaller 30uF-50μF 160v Electrolytic Capacitors into the old paper can. On digging out the sealing resin which is only about 5mm thick, the rest of the old caps were removed with long nosed pliers. I mounted the two new caps into the old can, l soldered wires to original pins and mounted back onto circuit board. I thought this might be of use to others that want to keep that original look.

Thanks for the story and pics. I've kept some old tubes, so might try this some time.
