I have been to the city and another radio followed me home.
It is a wooden cased mantle radio with 4 valves in it. EL3N, EBF1, 80, and someone has scratched 6A8 in the last one.
5467 or 3467 is stamped into the chassis. The Art S&P sticker on the back says "Selex Transfers", G.W.Green & Sons Pty Ltd Melbourne D2030.

EBF1 sounds wrong.

EBF 11 is a pentode double diode as is EBF33. Perhaps EBF2.

The latter, is what I would expect in a reflexed set.

EBF11 has a weird 9 pin base & is possibly a metal
EBF2 I think is a "P" base
EBF 33 is an octal.

A common used early balloon type with "P" Base is EBL1
http://tubedata.milbert.com/sheets/102/e/EBL1.pdf

That has diode plates, the pentode is capable of 9 Watts

EL3N is an output tube of similar capability http://tubedata.milbert.com/sheets/030/e/EL3N.pdf
No diode plates

Marc,
The EB*1 is a Philips, Miniwatt, 96, Made in holland valve with an 8 contact plug in the base which plugs into a socket on the chassis which is similar in type to the EL3N.
The EB*1 has a top contact and the whole glass envelope is sprayed gold.
The EL3N has a gold band sprayed low down on the glass envelope.
Maybe it is an EBE1?
I have Emailed Brad some pictures to post here.

Regards.

The European numbering system is not the same as the American one.

Their system uses a letter for the heater volts but the other letters will tell you if it is a triode, pentode etc.

The set you have is likely a reflex if it only has four valves.

6A8 may be a ring in, does this thing have SW as well as BC? If it has SW I would not expect 6A8, more likely 6J8 or ECH35.

Wrong valves is always an issue when trying to identify a chassis.

Marc

I am sure it is Medium Wave only. What is BC?

BC == Broadcast Band, same as AM (Amplitude Modulation) or MW (Medium Wave)
