Would anyone have a service manual for a Ferris Super 8 and De Luxe 9 Portable Car Radio?
I do apologise, they only have metric valves in them. Grin

G'day,

Try http://www.kevinchant.com/uploads/7/1/0/8/7108231/214.pdf.

Both schematics sent to your inbox.

Cheers, Graham...

I do have to ask? What is a metric valve?

Tasma used a lot of European numbered valves I have Breville here (1949) that has been built for an ECH35, which is similar to a 6J8.

Oscilloscope specifies EZ80 as a rectifier ... that's a 6V4 and the one in there is labled both.

I have refurbished a 1949 Style 240V~ / 12V Ferris lately which needs a new speaker.

I would like to track down a circuit / info for that as well. Despite it now working.

Marc

Little Nipper,

I am no expert but have some familiarity with similar circuits eg I got a 242 Ferris (transistors) up and running after it had been 'butchered' by others. Does transisitor = metric valve?????

Do you have the model number? I have most of the Ferris schematics.

Cheers, Graham...

I sent it home temporarily as the collector want's to clean up the case.

I will likely still have to make some plugs to fit those fuse type sockets. One of us will contact the other as I have paperwork for him and I will, aquire the numbers.

The speaker is a case of: "This is what happens when it is pointed upwards" All the dust ends up around the voice coil and water distorts the cone.
