Wanted known how to id different models of Diason radio.
Do all serial #s start with 32?
Anyone worked on one other than the model shown in the
'Silicon Chip' article? Any pics of different types?
Thanks for any help.

It is possible that the serial no may in fact be the model no, see

http://www.hws.org.au/RadioHistory/manufacturers/DDD.htm.

G'day,

There are four schematics in the AORSM.

The first circuit describes models P56, P58 and D58.
These radios have 1.4V valves such as 1T4, 1R5, 3V4 etc and are powered by 1.5 volt A and two 45 volt B batteries.

The second circuit is for the model D68 which is similar to the above with the addition of a mains power supply with a 6X4 rectifier. Battery power is an option with a type 753 battery of 9 volts for the fils and 90 volts for the HT. ( fils are wired in series).

Third circuit is for models 32/6, 50/6 and 110/6. In these models, 6.3 volt valves are used except for the output valve which is a 25L6. The 110 volt model uses 12.6 volt types with a 50L6 in the output.

The fourth model is a PP 32/6 which was 32 volt only with push pull 35L6s in the output stage.

Radio Waves #78 of Oct 2001 has some info on the Diason firm including some nice pics of a restored 32/6

Cheers, Graham...

Hi, thanks for the replies....serial number does not match any model number I can see listed.
Also with the valve line up it may have been altered...but thanks for the tip I am trying to id at least some of the valves.

If you add X61M and 6SQ7GT for a total of 6 valves then I'd say you have one of these models from 1950:

110/6
32/6
50/6

Serial # starts with 32 AA...
Thanks for replies...with the battery retainer on the side of the
chassis and thus the offset knobs ..should be a 32/6 as
mentioned by Graham and others. Must not be a popular model as I have never seen a pic. Thank you for all replies.
