I am having trouble with a sweep generator, a Leader LSW - 250. I am sure that I know how it is supposed to work .... but cannot generate a 'tuned circuit resonance curve'.
If some-one has one of these, or even some experience using a sweep generator ....then I would like to ask them some questions as to how to use it properly.

If you don't get local assistance, then I note that the operator's manual is available from AG Tannenbaum:

Thanks GTC. Already have the Manual ...and it makes sense .....but the outputs I am obtaining don't make sense. I have put it away for a few days ....time for re-evaluation of my technique, or lack thereof. Maybe an impedance issue ie generator output to circuit under test ....???

Here's a bit of a tutorial on the Wavetek 1080. After talking about its various features, he uses it to sweep a short wave receiver. There may be a hint or two in it for you:

and here he aligns an AM receiver:

... and if it's all too much, here he is showing how to align without a sweep generator:

Thanks again GTC.
There are a few things in that video that I need to follow through.
Re You Tube .....considering the amount of junk videos that people send in emails etc .........searching You Tube for technical information just didn't occur to me. Must keep that in mind.
I will let you know how I get on.

GTC et al,
Well .....I eventually produced something ressembling a frequency dependent curve with my Sweep Generator. There were two problems, I didn't have a demodulating probe for my scope (so I built one) and the Sweep Generator frequency was all over the place due to a corroded contact. The Generator output still seems weak and 'dirty'.
