 AWA 893P High end transistor radio.

Got this lovely radio at the last CANBERRA HRSA meet for $20. Its in great condition and works well. There is a scuff on top which can be patched. The last owner converted it to AC which I personally dont like and will attempt to convert it back. The conversion is excellent inside the case but the power lead leaves a lot to be desired. I would have installed a IEC socket ( what do you guys think ?). Thanks for reading.

P:S I noticed a lot of the original caps are 400 volt which is unusual for a transistor radio!

Photos have been sent. Was thinking about fitting a IEC socket. They did leave the battery plugs intact so may resort to that.

Most likely surplus stocks, regarding the 400V condensers. AWA often did the same with valves.

It should be a relatively easy job to convert back to battery as that power supply is mounted on a wooden plinth. I would pull it out in its entirety and just unplug it. I may be able to use it elsewhere.
