G'day all... I have a Rolls ... maybe a "Newport", or similar. Big, heavy record player (comparatively)with AM only radio. Mostly particle-board that has thin vaneer... almost walnut looking!
I've changed DIN outlets on the back of both speakers to banana plugs... can you see any problems?
I've left the old 2 pin plugs on the other end ...as in, where they plug into the system itself, at the back.
I've also got the AM tuning knob that's wobbling around... it won't tune to anything... not even the static sound???
I've plugged in speakers, and I'm getting the (usual) humming sound.
Sorry for the amateur-hour post, but it's a new hobby.
Hope you are all relatively well.
Any and all help is much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Damien.

Late in the life of Rolls Radio they were bought by Keith Lord Discounts and moved into their Ashfield facility.

That would have been about 1970, they continued to operate for at least 4 or 5 years from this site. The company I worked for at the time used to do warranty service for them.

Amplifiers used AD161 / 162 pairs with a regulated power supply. Mullard 10 - 10 circuit.
Radio tuner was a Philips module.
