Hi everyone,
I have recently come across a 17valve receiver with a prebuilt front end, 3 IF stages with 6ba6's and a crystal 2 pole filter on 450 kHz.
The Rf valves used are 6ca5's ( beam power tetrodes, good to 400 megs!) No noisy 6be6 to worry about, uses a 6eh7 as a mixer?

I have looked at geloso and eddystone circiuts with similar set ups. Definitely aus built with 1 Aegis coil former in can, also 100kHz marker and a slo-mo eddystone? dial. Has Ferguson PT174 power trans.

Does anyone have any ideas as this would be a good piece of history to get going once again.

Many thanks

Brian

Perhaps a Radio Television and Hobbies/ Electronics Australia project?

Sounds like a 1963 Radio TV and Hobbies project.
"Deltahet" receiver.
Great receiver and lots of interest in its day.
Including me.

Letting us know the full valve line-up would be useful.

Sounds like quite a masterful receiver and would perform well even this day and age. Good luck with your restoration.

I recall that the Deltahet was based on the then-patented Barlow Wadley Loop from South Africa.

Widely copied by the Japanese with impunity due to the fact that South Africa was then a pariah state.
Hence their patent was unenforceable in the international market.

Reputed to be the best HF receiver ever, the system is also reputed to be drift-cancelling.
