Hey folks! was wondering if I could get a little help from you guys?

I have a Philips Radio 3052A-3252A (one of them) from 1942-46. it has been serviced by a professional but has this one weird problem whereas you tune the radio and when the dial gets about halfway it cuts out with zero noise, then comes back to life as you go back past the middle. So only sound comes through on the first half of the dial, and silence on the other. I must appreciate your help guys! what do you think?

Thank you.

Most likely tuning gang shorting out. Ohm-meter will tell you.

I use a credit card to gently straighten out any plates that may be shorting together.
