Hi All, does anyone have a circuit diagram for a 4a17 using the 6sa8 as converter. bowler

4A17 is a reflexed set 1947 horrid 6A8, EBF35 metalised Philips, 6V6 and rectifier 5Y3. Use 600v filter caps.
Do not remove the Philips tube by dragging it out by the envelope; The metallisation is its shield and you are liable to break the wire to pin 1 ground.

The 6SA7 was probably a substitute due to immediate post-war shortages.
It is the same as a 6A8 except the G3 connection is on the base.
The link will give you the pinouts, otherwise the circuit is probably the same as with the 6A8

Marc is right about those metalised Philips valves. Don't pull or twist the red bulb!!
It someone else has, you can fix the connection with a silver or gold paint pen.
