Hello,

Can someone tell me the differences between the standard 6B7 and the 6B7-S variant other than the shielding? My Astor GA list the -S type for the first IF stage and then the standard 6B7 for the second. Both valves are are fitted in the radio with “Goat” shields attached. Thanks

According to the Miniwatt technical data, the 6B7 is equivalent of the 6B8G, while the 6B7S is equivalent of the 6G8G (and having the extra sprayed-on shield).

The 6B8G and 6G8G are pin-compatible and can be swapped, but you'd need to compare the specs on their data sheets.

Thanks Robbbert. I’ll have to research it further.
