Good morning all, Ihave a radio with an EZ41 rectifier. I was wondering whether I could change it to a 6V4 with the appropriate socket change. Bowler

I can’t see why not. Heater current is a little more but shouldn’t be a worry. The 6V4 has a higher voltage and current rating but the load characteristics are similar. Overall output voltage maybe a little higher.

Interesting I was hunting through the bottle collection for a 6V4 for a HMV chassis 42 a few minutes ago.
6V4 has a heater of 0.6A vs 0.4A for EZ41 but will handle more current.

If you have no tube data go to Franks Electron Tube Pages http://www.tubedata.info/

As long as the heaters are wired in parallel I can't see it being an issue at all.

Is there a reason for wanting to change it?

It's not in a 12 volt car radio, is it?
