Yesterday purchased a four mains outlet power board HPM brand which also had two USB charging ports. Thought the USB charging capability would be handy for various tablets etc.

Placed the power board near my recently rebuilt Tasma M1331T and noticed quite an amout of RF hash had appeared. Some experiments with a AM transistor portable confirmed the hash was appearing from the power board and must be coming from the cheapo switchmode USB charger supply.

In the end pulled the power board apart and removed the USB chargers as wanted to have this power board placed near the Tasma.

As well noticed that even when power was removed from the power board the USB charger continued running for a full minute until a large capacitor discharged.

Have had this condition of wall warts and the like running for quite a while generating RFI even when unplugged from the power.

The curse of this modern society. Surrounded by the things.
