Hi all, I am presently restoring a Bush Radio model ac11. It contains a 2 meg log switched pot as the volume control.I am not worried about the switching part, but am wondering where I can source one from. I tried a 1 meg pot but it will not work. Bowler

Actually do you have the old pot and what is wrong with it? I have a HMV 5101 and its is missing. I would like to know the tapping point.

My current act to get a tapping point was to get a 13, or so, tab switch, tandem it to a 2M pot and measure the resistance at each switch step. Then duplicate it with resistors.

Now I do think the ordinary 2M log pot is still gettable. However from what I did above; within an accumulation of hundreds mainly from deceased estates there has to be at lest one 2M log pot.

Shaft length might be an issue for you. I have a Lathe & make my own adaptors.

I'm surprised by this comment as I would expect it to work, not perfectly but at least something would get through.

You could emulate a 2 Meg pot by putting a 1 Meg resistor in series with the pot top end. You won't get the full range of control, but at least it will be as designed.
