An example has landed on by bench with issues likely caused (Operator failures) for not the first time. Issues with AC Volts; anyone have any circuit info on it.

The only problems that I have encountered with digital meters have been the protection spark gaps.
Easily seen on the circuit board, and after some mishaps with measuring by owner have arced over as designed, but have left a minute carbon track. That then will really muck up all reading, whether voltage, resistance or whatever.
Worth checking by just removal. Double sided circuit board can make this more difficult.

Fortunately this one is like the three make & break faults this week, on circuit boards (so far) Its got two separate boards. Cleaning those & visual inspection has not revealed anything there. Lead free solder, which this isn't, does have a bit of a habit of growing whiskers & shorting.

Too many tangential projects at the moment to concentrate on it. It also has IC's in it.
