Reading this on a Samsung 206BW monitor which is starting to become flakey at turn on. Looks like some electrolytics coming it's way shortly.

My Samsung monitor must have been listening in. It totally failed yesterday, failing to turn on.
Opened it up and sure enough 2 x 1000μF and 1 x 470μF 25V caps with their insides trying to get out.
I only had 680μF switch mode grade caps on hand so that's what went in.
Works a treat now.

That is good news, a broad tolerance has been designed into the Samsung PSU.

Well done repairing the monitor - much cheaper than throwing it out and buying a new one.
