Queenslander David Tipton has made some excellent videos. He has a passion for restoration and is very handy on the lathe, etc, when it comes to the need to recreate parts.

Her's his channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCDtNHvDDVqTzEQcfd8qhquA

Good to see how he goes about painting the chasse, masking the transformer hole with magnetic sheet is a good tip. He even appears to have stamped new numbers on the IF transformer covers. I have done this using an ordinary date stamp which come with sets of letters and numbers, with very nearly the right size and font.

I would have masked off the ARTS&P sticker and given it a misting spray of a matte clear paint, especially as it is in good condition, and then masked that off before the gold coat. The label with the valve lineup is easy to make.

He's done scores of restos and often goes the extra mile to make things look right / operate correctly. For a self-taught guy who took this up as a retirement hobby, he's quite inspirational.

I've been watching quite a few of David Tipton's video's and can only marvel at his attention to detail and his resourcefullness.
Watching him manufacturing parts on his lathe, making large patches on Bakelite cases etc, etc is a pleasure to watch.
He turns a sows ear into a silk purse time and time again.
His set up for powering up vintage gear is quite impressive as is his collection of test gear.
Puts me to shame I'm afraid.
