Well I am Back lol. this radio is nearly all together. if I wasn't going to the gold coast tomorrow I would be painting the badge and putting rubber feet on this baby. I have sent Photos to Brad and will try and get a better photo later.

WRT stripping a chassis completely I think it all boils down to whether the chassis and components will survive.

Parts such as I.F transformers may not survive and plastic parts may be very brittle.

If something breaks that is unique to that radio its a deal breaker.

That radio looks amazing Carl.

A flashgun /speed light head even with a diffuser, on into a shiny surface rarely bodes well. The 42-71 mentioned in August Silicon Chip, which I have not got yet: Is a flash photo with diffuser & tripod & real camera (Nikon of course).

On plastic coil formers & some other plastics decomposition Is becoming an issue.
