Hello Vintage Pete.
Thank you for your reply. I have sent off the head to an HRSA member who thinks he can replace the perished rubber bits. I feel a bit ashamed he is 96 years old and I am only just about 72 years old. He must be an amazing person to be able to tackle such jobs. I would also like to thank you for your kind offer of assistance.
If it does not work out I will get back to you.
Kind regards Jimb.

Hello Jimb,
Nothing to be embarrassed about, even 20 year olds get sick from time to time.
If you find you need the parts I can always be contacted through this site. I dont do Radios ,but I have liking for Radiograms and TV sets, So Garrard RC is a favourite of mine and I have parts for them.
You will find the Garrard RC to preform very well much better than a BSR or those early Philips. You can also still buy a SC 12 cartridge that will fit if you want a stereo cartridge later on. Those Garrards are good fun , enjoy it,, pete

Pete is also the go-to guy for information about restoring cabinets. See his articles here: https://vintage-radio.com.au/home.asp?f=14
