6GW8 Amp is SE I repaired a Thorn radiogram recently with a SE pair of 6GW8 SE amps.

When did YOU see F series on the service bench?

~'67 - '68 in Qld, some people still had these and wanted them fixed.
distinctive features were high tube count, PP audio, and all dem x'formers sealed with pitch, including no doubt a vert blocking-osc. trans.
A lot of expense to go to for a 17" picture

I remember those years.

Many people kept their old TVs going, hoping they'd last until colour arrived. If you are lucky you can still find a 50's TV that was recapped and had a new CRT fitted as recently as the early 70s. I have a Kriesler 79.2 like that.
