Murray,
Did you get any info re Codan 6924 or becoming an Amateur?

On the later, contact the Sunshine Coast Amateur Radio Club. They have a website & their clubhouse is at Maroochydore.
Also, search the Wireless Institute of Australia (WIA) for info re Amateur Radio.
