Here we are folks. I am in the process of building this CRO and have the CRT and Vertical amplifier sections designed and at the bench test stage and written up an article to cover these.

I need to do other stuff now like working for a wage (how boring) and will take some weeks to get to the Time base, Horizontal amplifier and then putting all the stuff into a case.

Like all projects I'm making it up as I go so you just cannot put a time on it.

So for this post I will send a PDF covering the first part, CRT and Vertical Amp and that may prompt some enthusiasts to make their own CRO?

Fred.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...

Ok so now here is part 2 of what will be 3 parts I guess.
This covers the time base and horizontal amplifier.
The 3rd part will be about making the power supply into a module, winding a power transformer the same as the rough test unit and jamming it all into a x-PC enclosure.

Finally I have completed the oscilloscope and present the third part here to be read in conjunction with the first two parts.
In this part I build the power supply module including winding a power transformer and fight the whole thing into a PC tower cabinet.
The CRO was then "calibrated" so voltage and frequency can be approximately read off.
I'm happy to answer any questions about it just add to the thread.
