This rebuild I did has turned up in the latest issue, Jan 2026, of Silicon Chip.
Log onto the SC site, or buy a magazine!

The odd thing is the link by SC to see a pdf of the original VR article works ok, but I cant find the original post on our web site!
I must be getting old.
Should be in special projects around November 2022.

Anyway read SC they did a good job on the layout.

Fred.

G'day Fred,

Point your finger at the article and I will try and find the file and re-upload if necessary.

G'day Fred,

I have found the article.

https://vintage-radio.com.au/default.asp?f=12&th=130#788

I ran into a copy of SC when I was at Altronics today and just pasted some of the link to the attached article into the site's search engine.

Just out of interest, if the serial number of your 11-99 is a very high one, you may wish to add it to this thread.

Thanks Brad, I simply got lost by not starting a new thread for a new project.

I checked back on the photos of the cabinet, the set had a brown cardboard tag that had 11-99, no 3878 printed on it.
Underneath there is a decal with 3878 pencilled in the blank space.

Fred.

Yes, there were usually two labels on these radios. It is a low number though, so one of the first generation, maybe?

I love the back story of how and why the 11-99 happened, and why Kriesler let it run for so long.
