Hi all,
A while ago I bought one of those flat 4" crt screens off eBay for ~$35.

Anyway I wanted to do something with it, and after looking for inspiration, I remembered the Motorola VT71. I got my sketchpad and drew up a design. Basically what I came up with is having the crt on its side, which has one downside of having the screen in a portrait orientation instead of landscape like most (all..?) televisions.

As it doesn't have speaker I thought I will wire one up and place that on the right side, and rewire the pots so that they can be placed vertically along the left side of the speaker. The empty space between the screen and the speaker will be used up by a grill with grill cloth covering it.

I might make the case out of 3d printed plastic, or maybe I'll dig up some of my woodworking skills and make it out of wood and cover it with a cream leatherette.

I thought I'd call it the OHCE 001. Oli Homes Company Electric?

Thoughts on this project?

Love it!

Those monitors were used in video intercoms so you could see who was at the door.

Because of the fact that the guts of the thing are below the screen, maybe a mini replica vintage console TV might be more suitable.

Like my AWA 209C for example?

Can you use Fusion360?

Yeah! I do like the look of the 209C and the Ekco TC215... That is an idea!

I most certainly can. We did a unit in class last semester and I breezed through that, not to brag! And I have a bit of prior knowledge, too.
