What a rig!
The guy has followed through to actual operating system, complete with the 35mm mag sound unit (which used Selsyn motors for sync?)

Would have to have good electrical installation for all that

I see a Philips projector there: these were the "Rolls Royce" - had vari-speed (good for Silent films of varying frame rates)

Yes, I'm told the projectors and sound rig use selsyn motors.

I don't know much about this stuff, but the small crowd of guys who were there on the night are all from the industry -- either projectionists or filmmakers -- and they are a mine of information. Some have mini cinemas at home, one includes a Wurlitzer organ.

Sydney's IMAX has just closed down for redevelopment so there was also short video shown of the last session, including the projectionist lacing up the film. Incredibly long path for that! That video was projected via the Philips.

I'm told they guy who owns the Cinerama setup has two warehouses full of old cinema gear.

I guess these guys are very much like vintage radio collectors.
