Some questions:

1. On the Archive page is some broken code:
A /vintage-radio.com.au/default.asp?f=1&th=321">recent forum thread has highlight... More

2. On the right side it says "You have unread front page forum posts". How do I clear that? I can see how to get to the last front page thread, but how do I see other stuff? Is there an index?

3. Why does Wa2ise show twice?

4. When editing a post, the edit box is tiny. Can you make it much larger?

1. Each result from the announcements archive is limited by the number of characters. I think it shows the first 150. If a URL or formatting codes are cut off halfway through then yeah, it'll cause small issues. I'll try and sort something out with that. An easy solution (and the one I may go for) is to scrap the content field and just keep the headings and make them the hyperlink to the post.

2. There's no 'master reset' button for the unread front page posts like there is for the main forum system. I'll try and add one over the next week or so. Only trick is, once you use that function there's no way to highlight previously unread posts.

3. Whoever is last in the list of members who were here in the last day will appear twice unless another member appears with a letter that is after that other member. It is a small bug but not a serious one. When the crawler robot ZScan logs into the site it makes that bug disappear. ZScan is programmed to log in once every 36 hours and run its course, which is to correct some spelling errors, change URLs into hyperlinks and a few other little jobs.

4. Yes, I agree it is small and it carries over from the old narrow version of this site. I will make it as big as the editbox used to create posts tonight if I can remember.

You have unread front page forum posts.

Actually, I wouldn't mind reading the unread front page forum posts.... if only I could find out which ones need reading. There's no way to find out.

EDIT: turned out it was the privacy policy update that needed to be read.

Hi I have a AWA fisk chassis the chassis has a number P251/ it has 8 valves plus a tuning indicator. The valves are 6A8G, 6K7G, 6K7G, 6H6, 6F5, 6F6, 6F6, 80 plus 6E5 tuning. It seams to be a TRF set dual wave. On the cover covering the tuning capacitor is The Fisk AWA Radiola most cover are blue chassis is a grey to blue colour the unit is in excellent condition. I have looked in the Australian Official Radio Service Manual 1935-1955 and can not find it can any body assist with information and schematic and maybe a photo of the cabinet it would have fitted into.

Gazzbo,

You probably should've started a fresh thread for this query.

But anyway, the chassis in question is from a model 251 dating from 1936. It is too early for inclusion in the AORSM, but it is in the 1938 Mingay's Radio Trade Annual. Kevin Chant has the 1938 RTA copy here:

http://www.kevinchant.com/uploads/7/1/0/8/7108231/251_303.pdf

I'll have a PDF of the AWA factory version uploaded here soon.

PDF pending.

Here is a picture of the radio:

How are you going with this?

... meanwhile members can enlarge that box themselves via the pull arrow in the bottom right corner. Place your mouse in that area and you should see it change to a double-headed arrow. Click on that and drag.

The ability to enlarge a textbox is a browser function. Some browsers permit it but others don't. Those that do have a triangular grip in the bottom right corner. That said, it's probably not needed now as I've enlarged the editing box as requested and also the reply box at the bottom of each thread. The latter is bigger as it is on a page with the most recent theme. The editing box will be enlarged to the same size as the reply box once the page it is on has its theme upgraded.

If time permits I will work on Point 1 this weekend.

That would explain it. I had been using Firefox 3.6 on a Windows 2000 computer and CRT, but I recently upgraded to a flat screen, and Windows 7 and the latest Firefox. It also means I can see the right-hand content block, which had previously been off the side.

Good grief! I thought I was behind the times with XP-Pro, but at least I have an LCD screen and Firefox is up to date at version 45.0.

My next move will be to 64-bit Win 7. Smile

I should make a point of saying that members should place a priority on replacing their 4:3 screens if possible. I won't be hosting the narrow version of this site for much longer. It runs a much older version of the CMS software and is a pain to manage two identical sites.

By the end of this year, it'll be gone forever so everyone's getting plenty of notice.
