Hi
I've recently acquired a Healing Golden Voice 504G portable radiogram.
It has had the cord cut on it. So at the moment I'm going to assume it not working.
I'm just trying to find out as much information about it before I decide to do anything.
A few questions I have are.
what year it would be from ?
If it's a particularly hard model to fix if I go ahead with it ?
Would part be available if needed ?
I'm quite new to this as you can probably tell.
So any information would be excellent.

Jacob

Fairly similar to a HMV Nipper in its valves. Will best be fitted with a 3 wire grounded cable. probably only needs resistors checking & all of the electrolytic & wax paper caps replacing.

Crack a 9v battery across the primary of the speaker transformer & that should give an indication of the speaker & OP transformer being OK.

Wet afternoon job.

Marc

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...

The 504E is circa 1953. Going by the photo, I guess the 504G is closer to 1960.

Here is the schematic:

Electronic parts like capacitors and resistors are not too hard to come by. Parts for the gramophone mechanism, if needed, may be more difficult to source.

Do you have any experience in working on high voltage equipment?

Cheers for the response guys.

I don't have any experience on high voltage equipment.
That's why I'm trying find out as much information as I can before I attempt to do anything.
