Hi All.
I picked up a Bus Radio-Amplifier manufactured by Farmers Radio Service in
South Australia in 1948.
I cant seem to find any information on them.
My father reckons the were into 2 Way Radios and Amplifiers,
They used to do PA at some country race meeting.
Any help would be appreciated
Josh

A quick search of the TROVE archive shows their workshop was located at 102 North terrace, Adelaide.
From 1945 till about 1949 they installed car radios and did repairs to radios. They advertised their services in the newspaper classifieds and also for expert technical staff.

They used to do PA at some country race meeting.
Seems they were in business for quite a few years. Some material from Trove:
"A very fine programme has been arranged by Mr. Ansbert Campbell for Sunday, October 29 [1939], at Continental Theatre, St. Vincent de Paul's Orphanage, Goodwood. ... Amplified music will be provided by Sound Ray Amplifiers and Farmer's Radio Service."
“[Jan, 1945]Farmers Radio Service. 102 North Ter, Adelaide. Radio repair specialists.”
"Under untiring and enterprising leadership, the parishioners of Goodwood made a complete success of the fete and continental in aid of the Mgr. Hourigan Memorial School in St. Thomas' Schoolgrounds on Saturday, April 18 [1953]. .... Lighting and amplification was supplied by Mr. John Cleary, of Farmers Radio Service."
"[March, 1954]A Port Lincoln taxi firm, Merchants' Lincoln Taxi Service, has recently completed the installation of two-way radio communication. The sets are operating in four taxis in conjunction with a base station. This is a big asset to the public of Port Lincoln and puts this town on a par with other larger South Australian country towns with radio taxis operating. ... The whole equipment was manufactured and installed by Farmer's Radio Service Co., Adelaide."
"[July, 1954]Public address amplifying equipment installed in Port Augusta Power House by Farmers Radio Service co. 257 Angas Street Adelaide manufacturers of Roadmaster radio telephone equipment"

Brad: As this thread shows, the bug relating to quoted strings in subjects seems to have returned. All text after the first quote character is deleted in the new thread listing for General Discussion.
