I'm looking for information on an old radio I have.
It is a box style radio with a horn speaker. I suspect the radio was made in the late 1920's or early 30's, as it has a shaded lacquer finish, a very small dial & 2 knobs- 1 for tuning, and the other seems to be for fine tuning. It doesn't appear to have a volume control. The cabinet is fairly plain, with reeded columns at each end, and a brass name tag on the side.
The tag reads-
"El Rado"
Manufactured by
C. Elder & Co Pty Ltd
549 Mount Alexander Rd,
Moonee Ponds
Tel.FU6176

Does anyone have information on the Elder's Co, any original advertising or idea what year this was made?
I can send pictures to be posted if required.
Thanks.
