The Christmas season is almost with us again, although we could be forgiven for thinking that it started months ago with major retailers starting to sell Christmas trees, decorations and some of the usual Christmas food and drinks. Retailing survives so much due to parallel conduct these days, with most outlets thinking that they must sell that extra roll of tinsel or they'll surely go broke. Not to mention that come the 2nd January, 2016 the supermarkets will start stocking hot cross buns.

Hint to Coles and Woolworths: Good Friday is on the 25th March in the coming year!

I'll now take this time to wish all members and guests a merry Christmas and all the best wishes for 2016. A special thanks once again goes to contributing members who have for a long time donated material to the cause when answering questions from newer members. Sites like this survive because of this generosity and it is by no means always a small effort.

Apart from spending time with family, I will be restoring two or three of the radios that have recently come into my collection. As announced in another thread here, it has been a while since I tackled a full restoration so this will be a part of my plans for the few days I will get off work.

Exciting times lie ahead.

Content is important, but I think this site survives principally because of the generosity of its owner, so many thanks Brad!

Merry Christmas to all.

Thanks Brad. As I am one of the newbies who is still learning this stuff, I for one really appreciate everyone who helps out by sharing their knowledge, experience and ideas. Merry Christmas one and all.

Merry Christmas to one and all. I might add that the Canberra HRSA buy sell swap is on the 9th of January. Anyone close by is welcome to attend.

Did anyone get vintage-related Christmas items?

The vintage stuff I got was mainly in the form of old trees dropping limbs on fences (5) and one whole tree dropping on one. Two actually fell in other places & the tree missed me by about 4 minutes.

I did use a 1951 tractor, 1976 chainsaw & and an axe of similar vintage to those two, to sort it all out.

Marc

Wrong! Woolworths has them now. Ridiculous.

Isn't it funny how they can manage this and yet not fill thousands of Xmas food orders.
