I have had this unit at home for probably 25 years and have never actually known how old it is and its value. Radio and Turn Table still work.

Thanks Will

This is a style that kept much the same for around twenty years. If you look inside at the valves you can bring the year of manufacture down to the nearest decade. If the valves are large and bottle shaped with black bases then count it as a late 1940s machine. If the valves are small then it was most likely made in or after 1950. After this you'd need to be familiar with which radio stations were opened from 1950 through to 1965 and compare that to what is on the dial.

Some members here specialise in collecting service manuals and circuit diagrams. The model number may be written on the back panel. That can be very helpful with year of manufacture.

A valve a day keeps the transistor away...

If there's no model identification evident on the chassis, then you let us know the valve types we can possibly identify candidates for the make and model, and thus year.

A well-lit, in-focus photo of the rear may also help.

That turntable is a pain of a thing, I have one exactly the same I will be parting out , due to the cabinet being beyond repair.

Models are RF177 or RF775 I think

I have a Philips chassis with identical knobs and dial plate extracted from a radiogram cabinet that I never saw - it is a Radioplayer 179. So this could be the same or something close in the series. A look in the back should reveal.

I think you would be lucky to get $50 for it in Goulburn - but you might be lucky.

Sadly many of these are picked up by people who just want to convert the cabinet to a cocktail bar or something.
