I have several 1960`s Ferris car radios, all OK but I have an unused boxed Ferris branded portable ? radio speaker, possibly early 1960s. It is grey in colour with Ferris on speaker face, and a small chrome handle on the top. The cardboard box has a red and white 4 headlight sedan on the large sticker with the words Quality Ferris car radio speaker, then under printed, Speaker 7x5 IN Housing. 15 OHM Also has the Australian made boomerang sticker on it.

Can you help with where it was placed and used in a car, and what year it could be.

Thanks,

Nepabunna

Sorry. I misread the posting. It appears that the accessory speaker is to be used on picnics and placed outside the car, possibly on the bonnet, to enable people outside the car to hear the radio with ease.

The description of the packaging does though sounds very mid-1970's

Wayne.
