Hi all,

I have just purchased a valve radio and I am looking to restore it but need to know some more info about the model, and was wondering if someone could tell me some stuff about it.

The model is an STC 51 I believe but I can't seem to find anything about it. Can someone please help?

Thanks in advance.

STC produced a lot of radio models over a period of 30 years or so, but I have no information on a model 51 as such (although some model numbers begin with 51). Where did you get that model number?

Letting us know the list of the valve types in it is often good aide to identifying the model, and some good in-focus photos of the front and rear of the set can also help.

Photos can be emailed to the Admin at the link below in item 6.

Thanks. According to my data, that's a No 51 chassis in a model 514 (mantel) case from 1936. There was sister version in a console cabinet known as the model 511.

I don't have the schematic for that particular circuit, but somebody here may do.

The STC 511A & 514A (Chassis 51A) is in the Mingays RTA&SM 1938, 6th Edition. I also found a circuit of the STC 51. There are some slight differences between the two & the valve line up is different.
