Hello All,
I am new to this site so apologise if I am commenting in the wrong spot.
I recently acquired an old cabinet of which contains an old 1930's (brand uncertain) radio and a 1950's Phillips record player.
I would like to know someone to contact to discuss these items as I am planning on removing them and restoring the cabinet for other uses, it looks like the cabinet has been upgraded over the generations so dating it is difficult, I do know however the last time it was upgraded was a company in Perth in the 1950's. I also found a tiny scrape of newspaper clipping with similar dates.
Do I put my contact details in here I am not sure???
Kind regards Sonja

G'day Sonja,

Best not to show e-mail or phone numbers in posts because spam to its collect this information and then it gets sold to spammers. You can show your e-mail address on your profile page by using the control panel - only logged in members can see contact information in your profile.

Hi Sonja and welcome

bit of a noob here myself

If you want to remove and put the cabinet to other uses, please dont turf out those units as I am sure other restores might be interested in acquiring them for parts or spare units for something they may own.(not like we can buy them brand new anymore)

Possibly *email Brad some photos so he can post them up and others whom know my give you guidance on how best to safely remove them (sad thought if that is an original, but you did mention upgrades so humm sounds like a Frankenstein)

* see No. 6 above the comment reply box

As below and post corrected ..there is no PM function on this forum
---
Just make an email available if you like and take it from there

Personally I do recommend using an email site email, one that you can dump if the spammers do manage to get hold of it,

As Brad has said... not a good Idea to put your *personal isp email address or phone numbers up on the net , Sadly
(* I mean one you rely on being contactable by lots of family and friends or business)
---
Anyway hope your other uses for it work out well

CheersSmile

If need be just ask a member to PM you...

Private forums are switched off here due to spam attacks. #6 is a good option though, for sending photos for publication. Grin

Not really, private messaging has been suggested by many over the years. It can easily be taken for granted that it is available but was too troublesome due to spam robots signing up and flooding people with junk ads.

No-one's ever complained about the function being turned off so I've never bothered to bullet-proof and turn it back on again.
