Like the look of this radio.

I think it might be an Australian General Electric version of a AWA Radiolette Model 27 from around 1934.

Yep, an R27 in disguise as an AGE Bandmaster. They aren't all that common nowadays, nor is the R27 for that matter. If I had the money this month I would swoop on that beast like a hungry magpie.

I hope the seller cuts that nightmare of a power cord off before passing it on though. That set up is downright dangerous.

Much like the AWA "Radiolette", AGE marketed their small mantels as the "Duette".

I have the AWA version of this. Like all radiolette chassis it is a nightmare to service.
Not a very good performer either.
Still, nice radio for the collection and will most likely bring a few bob for the seller
