 Precedent TV history?

Hi all was just wondering if anyone out there had any details on Precedent as I now have many TVs with the same chassis including my Breville, Precedent, Telefono was it a company that made chassis or did they make TVs I assume they did. Any info would be great cheers.

Precedent was just a brand name. The company behind it all was A.W. Jackson Industries Pty Ltd.

They had factories in Sth Melbourne Victoria in the early 1950's and were taken over by Electronic Industries (Astor) in July 1955. I believe production moved to Sydney later on but I'd need to check to confirm.

I think they sold chassis to whoever was in the market and as you've seen yourself they turned up under several different brand names.
