I am currently working on a Scharnberg Strauss "Tablegram" of 1950 vintage and have 4 of their bakelite mantels from about 1947.
I am intrigued that none of these radios appear in any volume of the AORSM and wonder why this is so. The other oddity with all these radios is that none of them have an ARTS&P sticker, yet they are a well advertised and commercial radio, certainly in SA.
Could there be a relationship between these 2 points?
Harold

The fact that they aren't in AORSM makes me think that either the manufacturer didn't/wouldn't release the service details to the AORSM publisher, or back in the day, Scharnberg Strauss radios weren't sold on the east coast in any significant numbers, if at all.

If memory serves, anytime a SS set has been raised here it's usually from an SA-based member.

I think you are quite right with your suggestion about SS not releasing their data, for whatever reason. Perhaps they wanted to capture the service market for themselves.
Re the ARTS&P labels, trawling the internet for images, I came across a video of a timber mantel with the sticker clearly visible. This prompted me to more closely inspect mine and sure enough, I found tiny remnants on two radios, but nothing at all on the other 3. Perplexed
Just worn off, I guess.
