Just got a nice Bell Colt radio. Sounds really good for a radio that has not be been recapped. Anyway, this Colt, which is in white, like the majority of Colts out there, has a defect. (Rather odd phenomenon, maybe it was thinner Bakelite as it was a rather cheap radio back in the day) There is a small hairline crack on the side of which I feel confident in repairing successfully, however, on the bottom is a large chunk of the case is missing. My question is what is the best way of repairing these large cracks? I assume using some kind of coloured epoxy to fill the gap but I thought I'd ask people with expertise in this area.
Also, I looked at a very pictures of different Colts and was wondering if there was ever a masonite back panel. All the ones I've seen do not have this. Perhaps another cost cutting measure.
