Now all I have to do is bring it back into OZ, get the necessary parts replaced, sockets repaired etc - and start enjoying it!

Here is a PDF from the NZVRS with heaps of pictures of Ultimate radios and others.

Check out page 131. There is a 8 valve table radio, Chassis BDU, 1937, which has the same dial and knob layout as the one that is the subject of this thread.
There is also a 10 valve console on the same page, Chassis AEU, 1936, that has the same dial and knob layout as the one in Brads ebay link. Except the ebay table version doesn't have the magic-eye.
