If you are looking for an easy way to calculate condenser (capacitor) value and tolerance codes you can try this site where codes can be changed to values and values can be changed to codes.

I ran into it by accident this morning and then I thought, I could use this with my latest restoration which includes replacement of the paper capacitors with MKT types. Some of these have their value and tolerance written on them though others have the codes. With printing technology the way it is it would make sense to get rid of the codes but I guess it is asking too much.

This is not to say that the codes aren't easy to work out though when running microfarads, nanofarads and picofarads through one's head it just gets confusing at times when most values in the older condensers are expressed in microfarads and micromicrofarads.
