This was mentioned at our Radio Club meeting & a Mail out via HRSA..
What is interesting (and you should read it) is the fine print. This was discussed at the meeting and privately.
There is a buyers premium etc etc. mentioned so if that and other things are added to the price, you might end up paying perhaps a quarter more.
There is also the reserve which was discussed. They wont sell if the offer is under 75% of their estimate. We always thought that " price" as what the market is prepared to pay?
Then there is the mention of artists resale royalty? This must be similar to paying copyright for reproducing artists work?
Love to know where that money actually goes? I own the copyright to works I know have been sold and neither I or Mother who created several works, have ever seen one cent from such doings ..... ever?

It's great that they have the auction on a Saturday - not. How does anyone still working who lives interstate get there on a weekday? It's a shame from my point of view because it means I, and others who are still in the workforce, don't get to participate in the live bidding process. Proxy bidding doesn't cut it - the good thing about auctions is the adrenaline rush during bidding for a wanted item.
I'd love a few of those radios I must admit.

Auctions & Clearing sales are really a great social outing for many. You go to meet people from the last auction and your neighbours that never visit and see peoples greed & one upmanship & stupidity paying too much for items.
Some times auctions seem to be timed to keep out the rubber necks & "Riff Raff" that stand at the front & impede the genuine buyer. If I go to see my cattle sold (weekdays) I will not stand in a space where I will impede a potential buyer: I want his money.
One of the best ways seen of avoiding some issues with big numbers of items, although, sale specific, was to let everyone look & poke (with security) at the goodies in a specific time frame, after which the area was sealed. The disinterested & thieves then went home.
Then in a big hall the punters sat to bid on the items as they appeared on the big screen. Without a receipt you did not get the goods. That method restricts those who will knock of the goods, while you bid on another item (seen it), if you have not got bodies to sit on your pile & guard it.

With all of those add-on costs it seems the vultures are circling.
I guess one should sell off the collection long before the grim reaper appears and not leave it to the spouse or family to deal with.

As a buyer, one can lose out that way too. I've just spent time since last night trying to buy a Healing 401E from someone in WA on Gumtree and it turns out that he's just realised that I am not close by so he is reluctant to sell now, despite a sale price being agreed to. He can't be bothered working out a postage price so that radio will sit on his shelf longer than it has to which means he's $110.00 poorer for the duration. I guess some people are easy to please. He's blown it with me though - I will chase a path of lesser resistance rather than wait for him to pick and choose who he sells to.
Last year I sold about 60 radios and sold every one of them to the first person who showed an interest and was happy to pay what I was asking at the time. I packed and posted each one on time and without fuss and for a few that were to large to post I hand-delivered them, including two that were interstate and simply timed the delivery for when I had other business in the delivery area. It's not really that hard to make an effort.

If I strike that postage problem I arrange for Pack & Send to collect for me. Still have to rely on the seller to pack it properly and give you the package dimensions including weight but the courier comes to their door.

With regard to the radios in this auction I reckon I will wait for the inevitable follow-up sales on Ebay as many buyers will be there to buy with the intention of shifting them on.
One radio I'd like to have is the marbled Radiolette but I am happy to play the waiting game.
